Technical Specification

A simple containment system that offers lifetime protection.

The Datadeck cable basket system provides a continuous resilient smooth base that is fire retardant to LPS1207, anti static and is factory bonded to the basket. Supplied with factory made fitting to the same specification. Datadeck gives the installer the perfect containment for high performance cables from cat5e to Cat 7 and even fibre. For greater protection, we offer the Dataduct basket which is lined on the based and sidewalls.

Both Datadeck and Dataduct systems are made from 5mm throughout and 50x50mm grid wires, providing maximum support for even longer unsupported spans. Basket widths and heights can be manufactured to your requirements, with side wall heights ranging from 50mm to over 500mm, and widths of over 1000mm. All fittings for the cable containments system shall be factory made to maintain the highest levels of quality and alleviate the potential for sharp uncut edges within the containment zone. The factory made fitting will provided the correct bending radii for the designated cables.

Our basket tray lined systems are pre-galvanised steel to BSEN 10346, limiting the possibility of stray zinc spurs being released into the airflow. If required, an additional treatment of powder coating can be applied to the cable basket after manufacture to prevent all risk of these spurs growing.

Both systems conform to British and European cabling specifications, which specify a suitable cable route not only for the installation of the cables, but to protect the system throughout its life. A liner of base sheeting is factory fitted to the cable basket to provide smooth based containment system as requested in the standard. The liner is also treated to provide an anti-static surface and fire retardant to LPS1207. By having the liner it reduces considerably the pressure points and strains on the copper and fibre cables. As the flat surface gives more support and in turn reducing the possibility of slower network speeds compared to standard basket systems.

All fittings for both Datadeck and Dataduct systems are factory-made to maintain the highest levels of quality and minimise the potential for sharp uncut edges within the containment zone. These fittings provide the correct bending radii for the designated cables.

Bespoke equal and unequal bends, tees, crossovers and reducers are all designed and manufactured for total cable protection and can be installed with maximum flexibility.

Routine maintenance, or fault diagnosis, can be simplified and made more cost effective through the clear labelling and documenting. Using pre-coloured data trays designating particular cable routes can also assist with identification.

90 Deg Bend: An equal bend fabricated in all product ranges. The angle gusset enables ease of cable installation.

Tee: The tee gives maximum protection to cables by the angle gusset on each corner.

Crossover: An equal or unequal junction fabricated with gusseted corners.

Reducer: The standard reducer allows reduction to a given size.

Datadeck / Datatray Basket Couplers: Linage plates are used to join lengths and fittings together. They fit by the inner bracket clamping the vertical side wires to the outer L shaped bracket which in turn supports the horizontal wires.

Dataduct Couplers:Dataduct couplers are used to join lengths and fittings together. It consists of two wire couplers that hook over the DataDuct wires and are joined in together using an M06 roofing nut and bolt. It is suggested to also use an earth braid to maintain earth continuity.

Jeztape: Jezmat is joined by the application of a 50mm width, Blue, waterproof tape which allows the simple and fast connection.

Collars:
A proprietary solution to the protection of data cables when threaded around raised floor pedestals. These two part collars secure to the base of the Pan area and prevent the cable sheaths from being exposed to the pedestal threads.

Earth Braids: All Metallic pathways systems should be suitably earthed and bonded. Earth braids are recommended for this purpose, these are mechanically screwed to the basket jointing coupling system to ensure earth continuity

Hold Down Clip: The hold down clamps are used to securely fix the datadeck and dataduct basket to the Channel. The wire hook fixes over the horizontal wire and is fixed to the channel using an M06 roofing bolt and channel nut (not supplier).
